Kitchen Spatter - Scissor for Cooking

An interesting idea from Toribe Scissors, to use scissors to actually cut food stuffs, to prepare salad, cut shallot, asparagus, carrots, etc. etc.

I myself initially couldn't imagine cutting vegetables with a scissors, and even wondered "Who in the world would???" So I was simply interested in the beautiful finish and the design when I first decided to get them in stock.

But to my surprise......, when these scissors arrived from the maker, my mom emailed me asking if she can keep one, so I asked her back, what happened to the Henkels one she had. (Yes, mother of JT shop master is using a German scissors..., well..., she had it from decades ago, and no reason to replace it with a new one.) She told me that she still has the Henkels, but she wants to use this one for cooking. Hahaha.... So I guess cooking with a scissors wasn't so much of an unthinkable thing as I thought!

I gave it a bit more thought and I came up with the possibility that people who are afraid of pointy objects (belonephobia), having trouble cooking with a regular knife, would benefit from having something like this, perhaps???

But depending on the severity of belonephobia of the user, this scissors still has a somewhat pointy tip enough to evoke fear??? In this case, if you have coarser sharpening stones (or a grinding wheel), it would be nice if you can grind away the tip, nicely round, and polish it up with finer stones, for the user. If you will use a grinding wheel, make sure to use it at low RPM and water cool very often to avoid tempering of the steel.

If you have no means to grind yourself, but like to have this rounding done, I'll see if it can be done in Japan (Toribe-san might be able to custom grind it for me, if not, Mizuochi-san from Iwasaki Razor might be able to help, altho he too is extremely busy...), but I would assume this will incur a bit of fee. If you are from Australia, I can personally do it for you, if you don't mind the extra shipping to go thru me, and this can be done for free.

You can of course use it as a regular kitchen scissors too.

It is fully made of stainless materials, and can be taken apart with no tool to clean or sharpen.
