"Shino" Chikurin Guinomi (bamboo grove sake cup) in Kiri-box

"Shino" Chikurin Guinomi (bamboo grove sake cup) in Signed Kiri-box by Shouzaburou

While the box is made of low quality imported Kiri material (the box cannot get any cheaper...), the writing and the seals are quite elaborately done.

Most importantly, I was quite impressed by the quality of the Guinomi itself, so I and my dad bought qui~~~~te a few. But it seems that dad gave most of them away to his friends, and also kept a few for himself, there is only one left that I can part with at the moment..., hahaha....

But I can contact the maker and get a few more in if you need more, in this case, pls contact us thru the Contact Us page, and we will get back to you.

Made in Mino which is renowned for their "Oribe" (deep green glaze) and "Shino" (snow white glaze) style yakimonos. The translucent glaze with Kanyu (crack lines) with abridged bamboo pattern painting, this is a typical Shino style.

Keep using the Guinomi and the Kanyu will absorb the colour of sake transforming the appearance in time. It is already quite handsome looking, but put some age on and it will become even better looking. But if you happen to want to preserve the virgin looks of this Guinomi, you can occasionally bleach it and the color will be kept pretty much as it is.

The koudai (foot) is meticulously made (not an abridged one often seen with less expensive Guinomis), and the glaze is applied in a stylistic way too (this is also quite unusual for Guinomis of this price), I think it's a really well made Shino Guinomi for the price.

60mm in diameter.
