I have recently been back to Japan staying at my parents place and traveled around Japan with them, visiting many of the famous kilns. We visited Kyoto (Kiyomizu-yaki), Tokoname, Seto, Mino (Oribe, Shino), Bizen, Arita (14th generation Kakiemon was impressive!), Imari (Nabeshima), and Iga/Shigaraki.
I used up all my savings (literally...) spending on about 300 pieces, most are for myself to use at home, but among them, the ones that I thought are most beautiful, I bought one or two extras (if there were any) so that I can share them thru JT.
I will be gradually listing these Yakimonos, some may be a bit expensive (but I avoided the ones that I thought has much name value added to the price, such as single Maccha-wans [tea bowls] costing more than 150,000JPY, etc), some are very affordable, but they are all what I thought to be very high quality and beautiful with good price performance, so if you share my sense of beauty, I'm sure you will like all of them regardless of the price/fame.
